Astilbe arendsii 'Chocolate Shogun' PP# 26,430
'Chocolate Shogun' False Spirea
Deep chocolate to burgundy fern-like foliage holds well all summer and is an unusual foliage color for an Astilbe. White plumes of flowers in midsummer are not as significant as the foliage. Will grow in full sun if planted in well drained soil with constant moisture.
