Valued for its brilliant color, it displays vibrant green with mahogany tones in the summer and a brilliant fiery foliage in the fall. In winter, the corky stems stand out among other plantings. Red fruits appear in fall and persist, opening to small, orange ornamental seeds. A fast-growing shrub that maintains a natural, pleasing shape but can also withstand heavy pruning.
